Gary, a Partner predominantly serving Northern appointments for RBR Advisory, joined us in 1995 and became Partner seven years later.

Gary has specialised in all aspects of corporate recovery, restructuring and insolvency since qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1994. He originally trained with Arthur Andersen and during that time he was involved in some of the major receivership appointments such as Leyland DAF and Ferranti. His recent assignments have involved advisory work with banks and asset-based lenders in respect of underperforming clients.

Gary has specialised in working on large corporate insolvency and restructuring appointments. The assignments have ranged from an Independent Business Review to assess the financial viability of the company to taking the formal appointment and trading the business in the short term, whilst negotiations for a sale of the business and assets were concluded.

In addition, exit planning and options reviews have been an area which Gary has gained valuable insight and experience in.

Recent assignments include:

  • IBR and cash flow review of a data room installation company.
  • Forecast review and monthly monitoring of battery chicken farm.
  • Exit planning and options review of wholesaler of beers, wines and spirits followed by a trade sale via a pre-pack Administration.
  • Managed wind down via Administration of a facilities management company with 600 employees and contract debtors.

Gary is highly esteemed and holds a number of licenses and accreditations, including Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association, and Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
